Waves

This was it. I saw it. This was just right. The wave I had been looking for. I hopped on my boogie board and started paddling and then it happened I started to move with the flow of the wave. I saw Alison glare at me a pang of guilt rose in my chest, I wasn’t supposed to be out this deep. This was awesome! Then they came crashing down on me.

I was dragged under, and gulping in heaps of water; the water was salty. The sea was pummeling me like a stone. I started to somersault. By this point I had swallowed so much water, I was crying (though it didn’t make any because I was under water).

Finally I emerged. I ran back to the shore and found her. she glared at me; ‘You weren’t supposed to go out that deep.’
‘Sorry’ I said.

We walked back to the batch. I had a nice warm shower. Thinking back on that day i’m thankful that I knew how to swim.
