My information report

Harry potter

Harry Potter is a widely read series written by J.K.Rowling. It’s about an orphan boy who attends the magical school Hogwarts and has many adventures with his two friends, Ron & Hermione, who together fight to bring Voldemort down.

Harry, Ron & Hermione formed an unlikely friendship in their first year, when Harry & Ron saved Hermione from the mountain troll in girls the bathroom. Harry stuffed his wand up the troll's nose and Ron used the levitation spell (Wingardium Leviosa) to lift the trolls club and then dropped it on the troll's head knocking the troll out. Hermione is a highly intelligent and logical muggle-born who excels in learning at Hogwarts, some people would describe her as an overreacher. In her first year she got sorted into Gryffindor. Ron Weasley is part of a,red-head family, of nine with six brothers & one sister. He loves the Hogwarts feasts. He is also another Gryffindor. Harry James Potter is a boy who when he was younger, his parents got murdered by the greatest dark wizard of all time.He grew up with his aunt & uncle (the Dursleys) his only living relatives. He grows up to destroy Lord Voldemort.

Hogwarts. Hogwarts got it’s name from the lily, Hogwarts is a fictional British, magic school which Harry Potter attends. Hogwarts has everything you can imagine from: Talking suits of armour, moving staircases, ghosts, a poltergeist, moving portraits, and secret passageways to house-elves. Facts about the house common rooms;
  • The Hufflepuff common room is the only common room that is not voice activated, in fact you have to tap the rhythm of Helga Hufflepuff on one of the wine barrels in the hall that leads on to the kitchens.
  • Slytherin’s common room is located in the dungeons & it’s windows look out into the lake where they sometimes see the giant squid swooshing by.
  • To enter the Ravenclaw common room you have to climb a long spiral staircase and answer a question i.e. What came first the phoenix or the flame?
  • To get into the Gryffindor common room you have to go through the portrait of the Fat Lady. That is where most of Gryffindors hold their celebrations.
Hogwarts motto is ‘Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus’ which means ‘Never tickle a sleeping dragon’.

Voldemort. Lord Voldemort, previously known as Tom Marvolo Riddle, is one of the darkest sorcerers in history. You Know Who, as most wizards call him, is an orphan like Harry. His mother died giving birth to him and his dad abandoned him before he was even born. He grew up in an orphanage. When he got told he was a wizard he was overwhelmed. As soon as he set foot in Hogwarts he wanted to learn all it’s secrets (and he did). At school he formed a group full of his most loyal ‘friends’ who too were interested with the Dark Arts. He named them Death Eaters. They were bad people who killed people for the ‘fun’ of it. Voldemort obsessed with becoming immortal & took himself farther than any-one along the ‘immortality path’ splitting his soul into seven pieces (horcrux). The times when Voldemort ruled were dark times indeed.

J.K.Rowling is the creator of this/these fantastic movies, series, and fandom. She is a very inspirational figure for boys, girls, men, and women, not because of Harry Potter  but because of how relatable, kind, inspirational & caring she is. In 2005 she founded her charity, Lumos. Lumos is named after the spell that gives light. Lumos is working towards getting children out of institutions and putting them in families where they will be loved. For more information check out the link. J.K.Rowling didn’t start of rich or famous; she was actually jobless, divorced and had a newborn daughter to care for. On a delayed train from Manchester to Kings Cross, London she came up with an idea. Harry Potter. She worked hard on this idea and and finally when she had finished it she took it to some publishing companies. Twelve publishers rejected her idea. Finally a small british company called bloomsbury accepted her idea. The Bloomsbury publishers persuaded her to use only her initials, worried that if boys knew a female had  written it they would not read it. Joanne Rowling doesn’t have a middle-name so she adopted the K  from her favourite grandmother’s name, Kathleen.

Harry Potter is now a hugely popular world for both boys and girls. And don’t worry Potter-fans it’s not over, with the Cursed Child  going broadway and another 4 Fantastic Beasts movies to come; we’re only just getting started.
